Whilst most blood tests tend to take 72 hours to be processed by the lab we ask that you give us 7 to 10 days to process the result. Blood results are sent back to the requesting GP and due to all of the GP’s working part-time they may not be looked at until your doctor is back at work. Please rest assured if the results show any abnormalities, the doctors will be in touch, either directly or via our receptionists.
Swab, urine, stool and biopsy results take a little bit longer. Again the result will go back to the requesting GP but if a result shows any abnormalities and requires any action the doctors will be in touch.
It is a good idea to ring the surgery for results after 2 to 3 weeks if you haven’t been contacted by the surgery. Please do not ring the surgery before 10.00am to request results as our phones lines are exceptionally busy.
In order to comply with our confidentiality policy, we can only release results of patients over the age of 18 to the patient themselves, not a family member.
