Most blood results are processed and commented on by a GP within 7-10 working days. One the lab have processed the sample, blood results are sent back to the requesting GP and due to all of the GP’s working patterns, they may not be looked at until your doctor is back at work. Please rest assured if the results show any abnormalities, we will be in touch.
Swab, urine, stool and biopsy results take a little bit longer. Again the result will go back to the requesting GP but if a result shows any abnormalities and requires any action the doctors will be in touch.
It is a good idea to ring the surgery for results after 2 to 3 weeks if you haven’t been contacted by us. Please ring the surgery after 10.00am to request results as our phones lines are exceptionally busy. If you have the NHS App or Patient Access, you may be able to view your results on there (once they have been reviewed by your GP).
In order to comply with our confidentiality policy, we can only release results of patients over the age of 18 to the patient themselves, not a family member.
